I have been with Hostmonster for approximately four years now. My site servers has been down about three times that I've noticed in all that time. Each time, if it was down for maintenance (which EVERY shared server MUST do from time to time), it was back up within an hour. Only once was it down for some other reason, and all it took was one quick phone call. It was back up within fifteen minutes. EVERY support call I made was answered promptly, whether by phone, or live chat. The negative reports I've read here are, IMHO, unreasonable. Emails, no matter who the company, are rarely answered faster than 48 hours, and a chat reply in less than twenty minutes is VERY reasonable. To complain about fifteen minutes is just ridiculous. Try getting that kind of response from your ISP! It won't happen most of the time.

The down time is minimal as it should be and overall i find this host to be pretty good. When i needed help and technical support i found the operators to be helpfull and patient. I would reccomend this host to anyone with a small business like mine as their services will definitely suit your needs.

I'm writing to let you know that I just canceled my account with HostMonster. They are arrogant and uncaring, have terribly slow email support (taking many hours to respond), and when they do respond -- it's as if they never read your email in the first place! And now that I've canceled, they want to prorate my account after just three days?! Jeez. As a newbie, I cannot recommend these guys. It's like they expect you to already know everything, and have written their help files as if you should.
